Haute Cuisine

Hello everyone, I hope your weekend was wonderful.
I just had to share this fascinating culinary experience with you. Hovering like some misdirected shipping container high on the Paris skyline above the Palais de Tokyo, Nomiya is the latest in the line of Art Home.
This temporary prefab structure, designed by brothers Laurent and Pascal Grasso, was scheduled to stand for just 12 months, but due to popular demand, sponsors Electrolux have extended its residency until June 2011.
A party of only 12 diners at a time can experience the privileged vantage point overlooking the Seine, quai Branly and the Eiffel Tower.
However, a trigger finger on your mouse is required to secure a precious booking.
If you miss the opportunity to dine by the dozen, free tours and cooking workshops are also offered. Click here for bookings.

I hope this has inspired you to try something different this week.

Fifteen hours ...

A little culture ...

Cafe culture from here

The Basilica of Sacré-Cœur

A little street performer watching ...

{amazing}

Performed in front of Sacré-Cœur

A little lunch ...

Le Procope
13, Rue de l'Ancienne Comédie
75006 Paris

The oldest cafe in the world, founded in 1686
It was frequented by La Fontaine, Voltaire and the Encyclopedistes: Benjamin Franklin, Danton, Marat, Robespierre, Napoleon Bonaparte, Balzac, Victor Hugo, Gambetta, Verlaine and Anatole France

A little shopping ...

Montmartre

... and four pairs of very sore feet.

What better way to end the week than spending 15 hours in Paris!

Paris for the day ...

A few of my gal pals and I have decided to go to Paris tomorrow, for the day ...

I've always wanted to do just that, especially since I live in London
and it's so accessible.
I've been to Paris before ...
but not just for the day!
I hope to bring back some lovely images.

Love ...

... this wardrobe space that belongs to Celerie Kemble,
especially the glass fronted antique apothecary cabinet that has been converted into a closet.

A pop of colour ...

I never leave the house without a lick of paint on my lips ... usually red, I've been wearing it for many years and I'm so glad its back in vogue this season ... rather than all those nudes (that do nothing but make me look washed out!)

I'm off to do my end of week chores, on this grey grey morning
in London
with my red lipstick on!

It feels good to be back blogging.
Enjoy your weekend.

Getting ready ...

I'm loving all the new season jackets from Burberry this winter.
Aren't the textures amazing?

Beautiful Shoe ...

At the moment, I am currently doing a research project on the History of English and French Interior styles from the 17th century to later 20th century.

I couldn't help but marvel at the ornate heel on Alexander McQueen's breathtaking golden platform, with references to the master woodcarver Grinling Gibbons (from the 17th c Baroque period, who turned Hampton Court Palace into a national treasure)
Absolutely stunning!
